need info on center caps for ricksons

hi, guys



i finally saved up some money to buy center caps on ebay for my rickson wheels with the ss simulators. only thing is that these center caps (oe dodge) won't fit when the simulators are on. you've got to take the simulators off (pain in the a$$) put the center caps on then re-install the simulators.



i wrote to rickson and they said the center caps should fit through the hole on the simulators while installed on the wheels. the center caps i've got have a friction "ring" around the bottom inside of the cap. is there a different one, the one i should have bought? :{



any help would be greatly appreciated. unfortunately i don't have a digital camera and can't post a pic.

When I install the stock center caps, it is a tight fit to get them through the hole in the simulator. After the cap snaps over the lug bolts there is about a 1/8” gap as you can see in the photo.

what does the inside of the center cap you are using look like? i think there are two different types and i've got the wrong one. any possibility that you can take the cap off and take a pic for me?



this will help when i venture into ebay again for another set of center caps.

The cap on 1998 trucks was different from later ones. I don’t know when the change was made. The cap that will fit on the 98s has a metal ring attached to the chrome plastic. In the photo of my cap, face down, I am showing the metal ring that snaps over the lug nuts.

i have the same center cap as you show in the photo. i THOUGHT (i know, i know... . i don't have any business thinking) or was expecting the center cap that snaps onto two lug nuts with individual clips was the one that would fit. the center cap in the pic (my center cap) will not go onto the rickson wheel with the ss simulator on. i have also tried to put the cap on throught the hole with the simulator off the wheel!! still won't work.



anyone have any ideas as to what is going on or what i am doing wrong?
