i am going to buy a 40 foot gooseneck and need information on who and where to buy the best reciever and air bag setups thanks in advance

I went with a UnaGoose because i didn't like the lever in the wheel well. If I'm not mistaken that is how the turnover ball works.

Watch out , Most of the bolt ins are 48. 5, Posted awhile back on the subject , a memeber PM that had his rails smashed 48. 5 is just to far ahead for any off road use 44. 5 will work for just about anything, In most cases it will have to be custom built and install. Measure twice install once.

Yes, this is how the turnover works, but the pros to the turnover are that there is a 5th wheel attachment, an inverted 5th wheel attachment, an attachment that pushes your ball back 6" (for short beds). And I think there may be a few more. Also they are rated for 25K lbs. but I've read where some people have pulled over 30K with them.

Those are all good things! The unagoose is rated at 30K as well. Since I have no need (at least now) for a fifth wheel and already had the wheel well liners in place I went that route. I only tow once in a while so it works great for me. I know the shortbox issue gets to be a problem but most of the trailers I tow are not square up front so it minimizes the cab interference.

What's this issue with the shortbeds I keep hearing about? I had an 01 SRW shortbed with a gooseneck ball about 2 inches in front of the axle and I never had any problems.

Just depends on how square the nose of your trailer is. Most car haulers won't give you this problem, it's usually the horse trailers. If you have a shortbed and you get the B&W you can set the ball back 6" if you need for added clearance. It keeps you from knocking out your rear window.

I went with the Diamond Hitch gooseneck setup. 30K lbs goose, and they have a 5th wheel adapter that's rated at 25K lbs.

I have the B&W with the Extenda-Ball which is only 4" not 6". I needed the extra to pull my 6' tapered nose Featherlite G'neck race trailer. . I liked the lookmof the unagoose, but needed the 4" extenda ball for the extra room... You can see pics in my readers ride section

I've used the B&W and the Putnam. Whichever you use, DON'T deal with Southwest Wheel. They sent me the wrong hitch and wouldn't pay shipping for its return. Know anyone who needs a hitch for a Gen2?
