Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need input on buying a truck!

Alright I had a customer come in around tuesday of last week with a 99 Dodge 2500 4x4 with some cranking issues. After finding out that his VP44 had went south on him, he decided that he wanted to get rid of the truck. So I thought this might be a good deal. 99 2500 4x4 quad cab w/ an auto. Here is the only issue, the truck has 345,000 miles. It needs tires, and VP44. Just had front brakes and rotors replaced within the last month. I know that it will need rod and main bearing rolled in it but what else do you think I could possibly run into on the truck. The trans feels fine and the truck drives very well. He will let me have the truck for $3000. I havent bought it yet but I think that it would be a good deal.

you know I didnt even check to see if it was a 53 block. I have plenty of blocks around the shop if so. No I want the truck just wondering what other problems with that mileage that you guys think that I might run into.

BUY IT!!!, if you don't like it, you can always sell it. It would be hard not to get your money back out of that one...
