Just turned 100kmi. been through 3 sets of front pads. Rear pads still have 1/2 life left in them. I am unable to locate any proportioning valve to adjust. All I see is a splitter on the rear axle that splits the rear brake line to each rear wheel. Any suggestions??

what year is the truck... i think that they eliminated the porportioning valve in 2000 or 2001... not exactly sure.

If you have a 2500 truck, go to NAPA, and buy a set of rear wheel cylinders for the 3500. They are a drop in replacement, and have about 10% more diameter on the piston & bore. They worked fine for me & a lot of others on this board. Makes the rear brakes do a little more work & you can feel a noticible improvement. (I got 80k out of my original front pads, and have 120k on the replacements, and they are still pretty good, changed out original shoes at 150k)

If you truly want better brakes, then stop ***** footing around and contact EGR brakes. They will address all the issues that keeps your truck from braking right. Go with them and you will soon discover what great brakes feel like.
