1st off I have done the search thing and could not find an exact answer. lots of info but nothing conclusive.

So ,I have a 99 24valve w/5spd. with the following HP mods

- Edge comp.

- RV275's

- southbend con O clutch

Heres the question(s).

I have been bitten by the HP bug and want to sell my 275s and go w/ the mach 4's.

1. )Will this be to much hp for my con O. it says its rated for 400hp/1000tq. but is that measured at the crank or rear wheels ??

2. )I have the stock tubo, is this going to be an issue. . I do not tow anything.

I dynoed my truck stock and it was 198, with the box on 5X5 it was 330. I have since added the 275s but want more hp. I know I will be over the rated hp max for the con O but as mentioned before I never tow. Im thinking that as long as I dont hammer on it from a dead stop i should be ok ??

Thanks Tom :D

You can go with bigger injectors but then you need to be able to feed them enough fuel for the potential. To keep from stumbling you will want to put on a RASP or a FASS with a minimum of a 3/8ths inside diameter feed line for fueling. There are lots of ways to go. Another tact is you can go with propane which offers more hp and tq and can be tailored to kick in at certian boost levels and will drop your EGT somewhat.

The real question that you need to answer, is how much money do you want to throw into this project and how reliable do you want your truck to be??

Rule of thumb, Gages, Gages, Gages first, second and third before mods. That way you can base each step as you add on.

assuming that you have the lift pump to provide fuel. the sticks will be nicer. you may also consider a turbo with a different down pipe. Sounds like you have a really good start

My clutch is still stock at 163,000+ turns. I don't run in 5x5 on a regular basis but have been there a couple of time. Most of the time I am in 3x5. Your clutch should be ok if you add bigger sticks and drive in a reasonable manner. You will still want to look at your fueling feed thought. Volumn increase with the same flow will be your want. You will not want to starve the new injectors. ;)

Fuel Volume

Like every one else said, Fass or RASP. I did my own test the day before i put on my FASS, in 5x5 i could pull down to 3-4 psi, yes this was stupid BUT sometimes in order to learn you have to run on the edge. put the fast on and 15 idle 12 WOT, the MACH4's you want will really pull the fuel :D , even to see a percentage of the increased HP that those will give you the Stock fuel lines and banjo fittings MUST be changed along with your choice of FASS or RASP. without this you will be looking at your tech manual to find out how to do a VP44 change :{ ... . Happy BOMBing  ... ... . Jeremy

Your south bend CON O clutch will hold TO AN EXTENT, but then I Promise you will push the envelope and the clutch will have to go..... I know, Ive done it :-laf
