My new rig came in last Friday. Been driving her around all weekend showing her off and getting aquiated. There is allot I like about the 05 but at the same time allot I miss about the 99... . like noise! And if this thing is making 325 HP then my 99 with the moderate bombs I had was making at least 375-395 at the flywheel. The 05 just dosen't have the snap to it. Now grant ya I had 4. 10's and now have 3. 73's but the throttle response just is not there.

So with that said, I need more punch. I do not want to have to replace the clutch and really not interested in changing out the turbo. I have been reading about some box's increasing the fuel rail presures. That don't sound like a good idea. And I'm not sure the one's that reprogram the computer are a good idea either. I would think that would be traceable. What's my options and how far can I go without a clutc upgrade? New gauges are on thier way. I would do these before anything.

If you want no pressure increase and not a programer, that would leave you with a EDGE JUICE

My opinion though is you would be better suited with a 100hp box from Quadzilla -- Very easier install + cheaper on the pocket

FWIW

If the recent TDR tests are any indication, 100hp is pretty much your limit without changing the turbo. I would do an AFE intake and change the exhaust to control temps and either run a Banks six shooter or the Edge, which is much easier to install. If you keep an eye on the gauges and don't do anything stupid the truck should be fine. Any box is going to give you warranty troubles, just accept that and enjoy.

If I bomb mine I will change the turbo, it seems to be the one thing really holding up big power.

I have the same thoughts about my 05 but have decided to keep it stock . I really want to keep the warranty on this one for some time. At least until the warranty is used up on the transmission. Besides, I still have my 99 to play with.
