Broken trailer tow mirrow - fixable?

What's the largest tire that will comfortably fit my stock 17"rims? The truck is mostly used for towing a GN trailer so height is definitely an issue. The stock 265/70's just look too small..... Once I can select a size, then a tread pattern and manufacturer. I definitely want an all-terrain pattern.

BUMP...

Was doing a search and I have the same question. Although I have a leveling kit in the front and back. So I also am looking for the biggest tire I can on a stock Rim I have had good luck with my toyo 285/75R17 , just getting to be time to replace them

I have recently had Bridgestone A/T Revo2's installed. They are 315/70R17 (essentially 34. 4" x12. 7") installed on the OEM 17x8 wheels. :D

Many folks run a 305 and a 315 on their stock rims... When I ran 285's they were just on the virge of too wide for the rim, based on the weight or air psi required to get a flat tread pattern on the rear axle...

Now I run a 255/80/17 and they fit perfect!

My '06 came with 315/70/17 BFG's and had a leveling kit in the front, maybe 2"?, and had no clearance problems with stock 17" wheels.

315's fit fine but they are too wide for the stock rim. They will work but will not wear properly and will probably wear prematurely also. They do work fine though my buddy has them for quite a while.

I was thinking about toyo open country mt 37x12. 50 or 13. 50 I don't think i will have problems with the front and rear leveling kit. Its just I don't want them too wide for the rim. that could be problems. .

Can I add on to your question? I am in the same boat but I seem to be the only one who has a 4x2 megacab with 4. 11 rear. The clearanace in the front is only about 6inches from air dam to ground. What is the biggest size above stock I can get on without a lift?

I have had very good luck with the Firestone Trans Force LT in the 285 they are a good road tire. They have out lasted the Good Year by 20. 000 miles
