A friend is looking for mud terrain tires that he can tow with. He is looking at toyo's and nitto's. Anyone have experience with either one and what about mileage?

Thank's,

Marc

M55

I have the Toyo M55's. They are tuff, can accept studs for the snow and ice, are load range E for towing, give off minor road noise, are difficult to balance, will empty your wallet, and are worth every cent.

Depending on the size you might look at Cooper ST or STT. Read mostly good things about them especially the ST but there have been a few who didn't like them. The ST E range tires jump from 265/75/16 to 275/70/18 while the Toyo M55s have 265/75/16 and 285/75/16 E rated tires. The Toyos usually have a higher load rating but the Coopers are usually 10 to 20% cheaper.

I loved the Toyo Open Country M/T's I had on my '03. Load range E, Low noise, and as for mileage, I had the 35" tires. Mileage went down a little.

i have 35"bfg MTs on my 01. i love them, they have about 20000 miles on them and still have good tread. buy them new, im assuming you were going to do that anyway. i did have a used pair i got a screeming deal on that were 35s on my jeep that had less than 5000 on them and they wore extremely quick. something to do with breaking them in on another vehicle screws them up.
