Need NV5600 tech information fast.

I have an unbelievable deal on a NV5600. It is 2WD, I need 4WD. I called a mechanic buddy of mine and he thought all I had to do was change the tailhousing on it to make it 4x4. He said they ARE NOT like the NV5600 where you also have to change out the mainshaft.



Bottom line is I need to know asap if I can just buy a tailhousing and bolt it on to make it 4x4. I NEED this tranmission for my project and have not been able to afford a 6 speed until now.



Can someone please help me confirm one way or the other if I can convert it to 4x4 by changing out the tailhousing before someone else gets this deal of a lifetime?

Looks to me like they may be different length shafts.
