Anybody know what the Cummins part number is for the stock fuel filter canister for a '98 12 valve? I'm talking about the canister that the fuel filter goes in that has the drain valve and water sensor attached. I changed my fuel filter yesterday, and when I pulled the canister out, half of the tab was missing. Unfortunately the half of the tab that is missing is also the stop for the open position on the drain valve. The canister is still usable as it is, but the drain valve can be pushed past the open position which causes it to drain. I priced one at a local Dodge dealer, and almost fell down when they told me $264. 00. I'm hoping Cummins is considerably cheaper. If not, I think a Prime-Loc is in my future. If anybody has gone the Prime-Loc route and would like to sell their stock canister, please e-mail me. Thanks -Glen Pratt

I called Scheid Diesel in Effingham, Illinois. I spoke with Andy in parts. I gave him my engine serial number, but he couldn't find the part number. He asked for my number and said he would call Cummins, and get back to me. He just called me back and said I would have my part in a week. The price $100. 00 for a part that these pirates at Dodge wanted $264. 00 for. I'm in New York, so maybe I'm not used to customer service like this. Thanks to Andy at Scheid Diesel for taking the time to find the fuel canister for me. It's good to know there are people that still believe in customer service like Scheid Diesel, Bill Kondalay-DTT, and Ted Jannetty-Jannetty Racing. Scott, Thanks for the info, but I couldn't find a listing for M&W Filter. -Glen Pratt

Good Folks to deal with.

:) Yes I too can speak highly of Andy and Scheid Diesel. I drove 400 miles to have them work on my old Diesel.

I even have bought non Dodge items from them for my Toyotas.

P. S. I hope Andy sees this. ;)
