I am in the process of installing the studs and I noticed that 6 studs are about . 25" longer then the rest. I have searched the past forums and I can't find any info on which holes these go into. I am doing them one at a time and bottom tapping. I have done the front 6 so far and all of the bolts are the same length. Are there longer bolts toward the rear? Do I just use the longer ones on the outside of the rocker box?

Looking for a quick answere.

Thanks,

Aaron

he said he was bottom tapping I think arp changed something with there studs I was told if you bottom tap you will not need to grind the injector riser box I bottomed tapped and still had to grind a little off the back of the riser box

The instructions I got with some studs said to put the long ones under the riser, just didn't mention possible clearance problems. Had to go back and grind clearance on riser.

I put themon the studs outside of the rocker box. Not sure why they have 2 different lengths. Maybe it is a universal 5. 9 kit and the 3rd gens don't need them???? All the bolts were the same length and the studs all have 2-3 threads above the nut under the valve cover and the longer ones leave 5-7 threads. I have yet to check for clearences on the rocker box because I am still waiting on the injectors. They should be here today.
