I like the Westin oval tubes. They are a good cross between steps and bars. Mine took about an hour to install, 45 min on the 1st side and 15 min on the 2nd side. :D

Give Van-A-Do a call, their site does not list the product, but call for pricing. Mine were considerably less than 5 other web sites where I found the tubes, the product was delivered promptly, and they were easy to deal with.

Good Luck,

Bill

Do the Westins mount closer to the ground than the MAAPs? I'm looking for the steps that give the best ground clearance and have noticed that some side steps/bars mount closer to the ground than others and have more of a gap between the cab and step, thereby losing some ground clearance. Thanks!
i was also concerned about ground clearance... i'm not sure how much more ground clearance could be obtained and still have a strong stepping surface. the westin ovals are great.

If you're looking for the greatest ground clearance and reduce the step-up height by 50%, then go with the Kodiak Sidewinders.

Although DC markets the front set only, you can get them for the rear as well, and save $$$, by getting them aftermarket.

We love ours!Oo. :D Oo.

Here's another recommendation for the Kodiak Sidewinders. I bought mine from Genos and put some pictures up in my readers rigs albums. I only have the front pair now, but intend to get the rear set at some point too. Everybody that sees them loves them and it makes getting in and out of my truck a breeze.

How far off the ground do the Westins and MAAPs sit with stock tires? Or how far below the door sills? Where's a good place to get the chromed stainless ones?

Thanks.

GOOD nerf bars for duallies

Go to http://www.putco.com/index.shtml and look at the new Boss Bars that Putco is coming out with in about two weeks. These are 5" nerfs made of stainless and look to be very high quality. I've had two different sets of Putco's sideboards before this and they were second to none, first quality products. They are a bit pricey though.

The Westins were put on mine and we immediately took them off because they did not allow me to stand on the bars where the rear duallies flare. I have a tool box/fuel transfer tank combo and need to reach into the bed to open up the fuel tank, etc. I have a set of the Putco Boss Bars ordered and can hardly wait for them to get here.

I purchased some J&J Running "Classic" Boards and really like them. They look classy and are very functional. Don't need to use the grab bars (just lost them anyway to a pro pod and Auto Meter Gauges) to enter/exit the truck. Spendy, but lots of compliments from other Dodge owners. Good luck in your search for the perfect running boards.
