Im goin to be installing twins on my truck later this weekend :-laf . I already have studded the fireringed the head. I planned on using my hx 30 to spool my hx 50. Im goin to make this a custom kit. The question is which turbo do I put closest to the exhaust manifold the 30 or the 50. Ive asked a couple of local "performance shops" and nobody could really give me a decent answer and the ones that did couldnt give me any reasoning for it. They said. "it just does". That wasnt the answer I was looking for. Any advice anyone could give me would be appriciatted.

2001 Ram, Edge Drag, hopefully twins, 200hp injectors, hipster transmission, 4. 10, 35's Goodyear MTRs, dual liftpump.

You would put the HX-30 on the manifold and the HX-50 dowm below it. The turbo's that you are using are awful small for a twin setup. You would need to keep the boost way down to be efficient. You may want to find some other turbo's. Are you sure HX-30 isn't an HX35?

That was my fault. It is a Hx 35. What did you mean they might be to small? Im not sure how they will react together but A friend of mine ran just the 50 on his truck and was pushing about 52 pounds of boost and dynoed at just over 600 hp and 900 ft. tor. I thought the 35 would work good to push the 50. If the that isnt the way to go what would you suggest? Thanks for the help

An HT3B would work good with the 35 on top. You can find a 3B fairly cheap. with the 35 and 50 you would need to keep the boost down so your drive pressure wouldn't be sky high. The 35 and 50 are to closely matched to be efficent. You may think about running an external wastegate with your setup also. Good luck.

Yeah, listen to Bpostel. The 50 is too small, can almost run that as a single.

Grab an HT3B. Cheap, durable, and can move a lot of air with your stock HX-35.

I'm thinking of building twins to where do I find this external waste gate
