Airfare to Vegas...........

I have youth pastor friend of mine who has a 97 grand voyeger, the transmission just went out on it, Does anyone know how hard it is to pull this transmission, it has the V6 and where is a good place to get it rebuilt in Utah or a remand unit. I am pretty good with cars ,so let me know a difficulty level,



Other one is a good friends 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5. 2 and full time 4 X 4. It jerks every so often like something might grab in the transmission. Shifts good, but jerks under cruise conditions and sometimes when stopped.



If you have any advice, besides roll of cliff etc. I would greatly appreciate it. Both are not well off finacially so I am trying to help. Thank a lot guys.

3. 3 useally has black rocker covers (3. 8 is a stroked version of 3. 3) these motors are OHV the 3. 0 is mitsu built, silver cam cover,OHC. I r/r'ed a 604 behind a 3. 3 in about 5 hrs. in a Aeromate I had. There is greater accesibility w/step van so I would probably add an hour to minivan w/average skills, these trans depend on solenoid packs to perform correctly so make sure all contacts are clean&wiring is in good repair, I would also change shift cable as it's a poor design and doesn't wear well.

My friend said it just started jerking and grinding a little and didn't want to move, so I haven't experienced it first hand, but I will in the next few days.



I really apreciate your help, Another question what should he expect for a remand unit? Or to have it rebuilt?

I bought one out of a wrecked mini-van for 400$, there have been alot of mods & TSB's to 604, , I would try to do as many of the updates as possible, this trans w/mods has become pretty decent, my wifes T/C has this trans and so far so good... . knock on wood
