OK boys, I need a little help. A few years ago I got the chance to buy a truck from a friend. I did not have a lot of money at the time, he called me and wanted me to have the truck. He even wanted me to make him a few payments, because he did not want anybody else to have the truck. So I gave him some money and picked up the truck. He was going to keep the title until the truck was payed for.

Any way, I got a couple money orders, (the last payment) and sent them to him in the mail. Called him and told them they were on the way. This was Feb 2004. He never called me. We kept calling him and his mother that summer, wanting the title. Finally Labor Day weekend 2004, he finally contacted us claiming we were trying to screw him. He never recieved the last payment. We called the money order company and after a lawyer getting involved they finally told us the money orders were never cashed and finally gave us back our money. He has our phone numbers, his numbers have been disconnected, and he has fallen off the face of the earth. I want to give him the rest of the money, I want a title. The poor truck has not been on the road since before the fall of 2003. I have embarked on setting the truck up the way I want it, as I have the money and intend to pay him if I ever find him. I won't consider getting another dodge and parting it out for a title to liscence, I won't part out this truck, I want stuff legal as possible so if he shows up, I won't get caught in lots of legal problems.

What can I do? Who can find this fellow? His parents have even disappeared. Thanks for reading, anybody have any ideas?

Seems kind of odd that he just disappeared with someone owing him money. I know I wouldn't do that. I also wouldn't claim that a friend was trying to screw me out of money unless I had dang good proof of it.

Hopefully someone with knowledge on this kind of thing will chime in. The only thing I would know to do would be to file for a lost/stolen title.

That sucks about your troubles, hope you get it sorted out.

It's tough buying or selling from friends. You can try [find. intelius.com]. They can find someone by name , maiden name, phone number, etc. If he or his parents has a new address or phone maybe you can find him.

Good luck -
