I have a leak on my '93 at the inj. pump. It looks like it is coming fromt the rear bottom of the housing. It appears the inj. pump is new. Is there a gasket at the rear of the pump that can be replaced? Also what kind of tool is needed to get the bottom of the three bolts or studs that bolt the front of the pump? I tried verything in my toolbox and couldn't get anything on it. I was thinking maybe a 13 mm crows foot???? Please help I have never pulled a pump on one of these trucks. I had the pump ready to come off and couldn't get that last bolt loose. I put it back together and am driving it but it is hard to start in morning because of losing prime. It is hard to tell the exact location of the leak but it is dripping at the rear right corner of the pump where the bracket that gets cut off to get to the fuel solenoid butts up to the pump. Please help.

Thanks Philip. I am gonna try bending one and if not I will buy the wrench. Does the cover have a gasket and how is the cover fastened to the pump? Thanks for your help.

The covers are sealed with o rings. A substandard material, or pinched o ring can cause problems. Today's fuels aren't good with the early style o rings. Where are you? I have the tool you need. I'll be in Vegas for the next week or so.

Check your flares on the injection line connectors first. It is pretty easy to nick the line flare and they will not seal.

If you drop the vacuum/power steering pump first you can get the last bolt off with regular tools.

Good luck. :)

I am in S. C. about an hour west of Myrtle Beach. Thanks for the response. Do I need to replace the o ring or is there a better alternative?
