need some help with prodigy asap

i am wiring my 2007 for towing it didnt come with the tow package so i bought the mopar 7 pin harness. Got it all wired up etc ran the blue wire into the cab i found the electronic brake plug under the dash, i hooked it up knowing that i would not get a conection because the blue wire is not hooked so i took the blue from the 7 pin harness and stuck it in the wiring harness on the brake contoller side and then plugged the brake controller in it flashed the n. c. for15 seconds just like the manual said it would, then it went to the two . . then for couristy i hooked up my light tester to the pin in the trailer plug and i got power going to it but the proidgy red P. L. which means power interruption while brake pedal is depressed not sure if that i did that making sure the wire was stuck in there in good shape etc, well now after unplugging the prodigy and replugging it back in, i used the manual knob and it showed n. c. which i knew it does when you dont have a trailer hooked up, well now i only have on . on the screen and i cant find out what it means, does this mean i have everything hooked up right and i am all set to finalize all the wiring or what?? i dont have a trailer to test it to here tonight so i need some help, i dont want to get this thing all wired up and then have it be wrong and redo it. thanks for the help
