The past couple days have been warm but not hot(70-75), and I have noticed I can push my egt's past 1300 @ 40-42psi if I stay in it. Will the outside temp cause this or do I need to be checking other things? I put the turbo in last fall, and couldn't get to 1200 @ 40-42psi until the past couple of days. Any thoughts on possible problems or things to check would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advanced,

Where is your boost being measured? Where are your EGTs being measured?

Outside air temp can easily account for 100°+ variations in EGT. In some cases, 200° differences between hot dry summer and cold winter.

My boost is being measured in high ram intake horn. My EGT are in the stock exhaust manifold. I wasn't sure if 70-75 degrees would effect it that much or not.

On a side note, I am debating on upgrading to mach 4's and smarty w/Comp, but wonder if the htb2 is enough turbo for that setup.

i have noticed mine go up a little since the dead of winter. you might want to up grade to a bigger turbo if you go with the mach 4s

Warmer air temps can cause an increase in EGT's. What you are seeing sounds normal...

Mach 4's and a comp box, and you will be over 500hp. It takes quiet a bit of air to keep 500hp cool. You might want to think about putting a S400 under the HTB2. :D I made 565hp uncorrected with a HTT 62/14 on top of a S400, running Mach 4's. Don't forget though you could always turn the comp down... :-laf
