A friend of mine in Seattle area wants to buy a Dodge/Cummins. I have told him that I have heard from the site that the '97-'98 5spd, 215hp,Quad cab was the way to go.

QUESTIONS:

1)When did the Quad get the rear doors?

2)Is the ones without the rear doors but the rear seat considered the Club cab?

3) Was Anti-lock available or standard on any model?

4)Was passenger air bag available?

5) What is a good $ range for a 2WD of these year ranges without a bunch of miles?

6) As with any years and modles of our trucks, is there any thing to look out for on the '97-'98's?

7) when was the short bed Quad available?

Thanks in advance, Chris

Answers:

1)When did the Quad get the rear doors? 1998 was the first year for the Quad Cab and the first ones had the 12v. 1998. 5 they introduced the 24v(ISB).

2)Is the ones without the rear doors but the rear seat considered the Club Cab? YES that is correct.

Thanks BV, Although I have the 24valve, I told him that HE might be better off with a 12valve. So I told him that the early '98 on down was the 12valve. Chris

Chris, Rear wheel anti-lock brakes were standard on '97 & '98 trucks. 4 wheel ABS was an option. The Cummins Quad Cab short bed was available in '98 model year. You are correct, the early '98's were the last of the 12 valves. Mid year '98 Dodge switched the 24 valve ISB diesel. -Glen

Market Place auto had a 98 12v 5spd quad shorty 4x4 last week when I went and looked at it. Tell your buddy this lot is in Puyallup on River Road. the truck is Diftwood (silver).
