My brother has a 2001 2500 with the auto, this is what his truck has,

Banks Power OttoMind, 4 "Monster Exhaust, High Ram Intake, exhaust turbine housing, BD Power torque converter, Extremely heavy duty Transmission built by Liberator Performance, 110hp injectors (Bully Dog), Fuel Pusher pump.

He is looking to get rid of the stock turbo, what for single turbo would you guys recommend for his truck. He has estimated 600 flywheel hp so thats about 400 to 500 rwhp. All help and comments greatly appreciated.

Well there are several good turbos out there for his application. Does he tow, if so how much? Is topend or lowend power more important. Give us a few more details on his wants and I can offer up some ideas.

On another note I doubt that with that setup he is anywhere near 600 HP at the flywheel. I would expect to see his RWHP somewhere around 350-375 with the stock turbo and his mods..... Liberator Performance is a nice shop but they drastically overestimate HP.

Doug

He tows rarely, so towing is not a real issue, looking for more bottom end then top end, but a turbo that fits in the middle, some of both worlds, you know, good bottom and good top, but if I have to say one way stronger it would have to be the bottom. THANKS

The Dodgezilla hybrid moves a lot of air for the price & he could use his Banks 14 cm housing with it & save a little more. It will work for 425 to 450 hp. The next step up, be it an HX 40 or one of the Schwitzer derivatives will cost a lot more & will likely not spool as fast.

Call J. R. Adkins, he has a Schwitzer turbo that would work great with that setup. It spools extremely quick and moves alot of air. He wouldn't be disappointed with this turbo. His number is below in my sig.
