it's time to do the transmission in the 01(i know, shoulda done it first) and was wandering how dtt's t/c and vb have been holding up with the increased power? i'd like to be able to run level 9 (not all the time & not while towing) with out any transmission failures. talked to bill k. today and he was very helpful but there are so many choices out there and with spending that kind of money i just wanted to get all the info i could before i buy. anyone at all have any problems with his products? he also said i should go ahead and install the trans saver he has. anyone close to me where i could take a ride in your rig with the transmission upgrades? thanks for any info (when does the bombing end?)

I don't have the PMX3 but I do have a bunch of upgrades and Bill K. stuff is working fine and holding up great. I have even towed my snowmachine tralier (2000 lbs) in level three on the PE... Hot EGT but the transmission held firm.
See my sig for the mods.

Are you going to set the transmission up for towing or racing????Your transmission will behave differently at different power levels. The more torque the higher the shift points will be. You must have one whale of a turbo to handle level 9.

most of the time the truck is just a daily driver,,about 10 times a year i pull the camper(approx. 10k loaded),so i was thinking about setting the transmission up for level 6(every day driving), and then going to the lower settings for towing, and higher settings for when the competition wants to play. if egt's weren't an issue i would set it up for one of the higher levels and let it be

well being one of the earlier guys who had the setup installed, still love my trans, still shifts firm and still gets with the program, although I have one of the higer efficiency units that I do not think Bill sells anymore it is the quality that keeps it together along with some engineering that has been done. Lets see I think about 18K on the setup with a lot of towing my 14k trailer in the mountains at 60 so I would say it has been definatly used hard.

iceman , to bad you didn't attend the get together in MD a few weeks ago , i was there letting guys take my truck for a ride with all the HP toys on . i have DTT 91% TC and 82 psi VB . making about 475 hp at the flywheel .

as far as reasearching which to get , i waited 6 months for DTT products to be released . i did the reasearch , look how many guys we see that have posted switching , i didn't want to spend a couple grand and ahve top do it over again as some have .

the only problem ( to me )with the PM3 is all those levels , you will have to figure out which level you want to set the shift points at and live with the others being where they are . anyone have an idea of how much an HP gain each level is ? maybe setting at say level 7 or 8 would be fine and you just have to watch your rpm in 9 and live with the shifts below , not that you will be foot to the floor with that trailer . you also need to keep an eye on EGT towing that trailer with those levels.

Iceman & Mopar,
I have the PM3 and the info they sent said each setting run 15 hp increaments. After reading some other post TST can program different rpm setting before the defueling begins ? I have to call them to check.

just ordered DTT'S t/c & vb ,,,after talking with bill k we decided to set it up with level 7 on the pmx3. i decided to wait on buying the t/c saver until after it gets installed in a few trucks and get some feed back on how it does.
