Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need sugestions

Last night I took my pump out for the first time, it was not too bad. I have to replace the side cover gasket on the engine because of an oil leak. I am going to time my pump and put in new DV's. Is there any thing that I should do, or look for as far as prevenative maintnence while I have the pump out? I am going to replace a broken drivers side motor mount as well, any tricks to that?

CANT HELP W/ THE PUMP BUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE EASY..... I RECCOMEND REPLACING BOTH OF EM THOUGH NOT JUST ONE... JUST EASE OFF THE BOLT AND LIFT THE MOTOR STRAIT UP FROM 2 HANGARS ON TOP OF THE ENGINE THAT WERE USED BY THE FACTORY TO INSTALL IT. MINE WAS UP FRONT ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE VALVECOVER AND IN THE BACK ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE... I HAND FAB'D A PIECE OF CHAIN TO HOOK TO MY CHERRY PICKER SO THE ENGINE HUNG STRAIGHT..... ANYWAYS REPLACE EM SET THE BLOCK BACK DOWN STRAIT AND TORQUE EM DOWN ITS REAL SIMPLE MAN.....
