To OD or not to OD

I hate to ask questions that have already been asked and answered, but I haven't found the threads I remember.

The stock turbo is now on the workbench with the new 16cm exhaust housing laying nearby, the clamp retaining bolts are out, but so far I haven't been able to seperate the housings. I've used Liquid Wrench, and heat from a propane torch (not a lot of heat only 400 deg. or so. And a 3lb. brass hammer. All to no avail.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, Ronnie

Thanks Keith

Well thanks to a timely e-mail from RAMMIN 0N, the new 16cm 2 housing is properly attached to the turbo. Not on the truck yet but it will be as soon as I feed and doctor hoss's.

For anyone that's interested, the tip was to use a large screw driver as a lever between each of the two, 13mm headed stainless bolts that must be removed before the housings can be seperated. Once the levers are in place, I hit the screwdriver handles a few sharp taps with the hammer and started the seperation process. It was all downhill from there.

Rammin On also had both good and not so good info he shared on his truck. He's almost my twin power enhancement wise, the main exception being his 4" exhaust system. The good news is he's very near the 300HP mark to the ground. Hope I'm near that. The less encourging news is that he tows and removed the 16cm and went back to the 12cm housing. Guess I'll know more in a little over a week when we head out to God's country (elk country, Co).
