Stock Transfer pump and Juice/Attitude???

I have the Edge/Att and now a Smarty. Am I understanding this correctly? All of the Smarty(no timing) programs will allow the Edge to be used above 0? This will allow the Edge to send modified signals to the Smarty program in the ECM. Not sure if there are things happening here with the modified signals that are all good... for the motor. I've noticed that I like the performance better with a no timing program and using stock timing and Edge on 0. So this makes the Edge just expensive gauges I know. So I wanted your take on just what are these two outfits actually doing and doing to each other when stacked.

I haven't had the Smarty long, only change programs 3 times and haven't explored POD yet but with all this adjustability I may find I don't need the Edge.

Thanks in advance for your input, I need to be sure I am beginning to understand the Smarty correctly.

Mine's a 2004. 5 and I have both, the Edge Juice/Attitude (Hot) and the Smarty POD and even an Edge EZ. Here's my take ----> Never run the odd Smarty programs with the Edge Juice because the compounded timing could easily melt your pistons. When Jeff Garmon rebuilt my transmission back last year he was adamant about not running compounded increased timing, (box and downloader), as it can have the injection event spraying way too early and be outside the operating parameters of the engine.

I tried a couple of combinations but with my limited trials I didn't think the Juice worked very well with the Smarty. Now the Edge EZ, (rail pressure), with the 3 position in cab switch will definitely wake up the truck with the higher numbered Smarty programs. I think the EZ three positon in cab switch is 20, 40, 60 HP respectively. You can tell a bit of extra power hits when you switch to the middle position, (40hp) but I have a hard time telling if the third switch postion affects performance that much. (PS - I could be draining the rail). Now with the Smarty RP adjustment the EZ is somewhat redundant.

I always unload the Smarty if I intend to use the Juice and I always liked the "on the fly" adjustibilty the Juice offered but I leaning more towards the Smarty every day. The timing programs give better mpg, at least 1 maybe 2 more mpg.

Since I upgraded my Smarty to the POD with the Revo/TNT software with all the features, timing rail pressure, torque management etc. my Edge Juice / Attitude is my backup gauge as well. The last software I loaded works for me (Smarty POD with S06PV401ADR57_1). On the high levels you can make it smoke if you're not careful but I have been running level 7 or 9 without backing it down but I haven't been towing anything with it. I'll be towing the boat this summer, (only 5000lbs) and I will drop back the power level to reduce the smoke.

I'm considering removing the Juice unit but may keep the EZ just for the ease changing the RP on the fly. If I had it all to do over again it would be the Smarty all alone but the Smarty has evolved dramatically over the last few years so takethat for what it' worth.

I don't think I really answered your question but do use caution running both together.
