I have been using the heck out of my truck lately (the 2500). On average it will have anywhere between 2 to 4 tons in the bed 2-3 times a week. I noticed the rear suspension sags way to much. I have zero knowlege about suspensions and want to know the best way of beefing up the rear. I think more leaves might be the way to go? A stiff empty ride is ok. Can someone tell me where to go to get leaves or a specific kit for my truck or another solution.

How about OTHER solution?

First let me say that I would get a trailer or use a 3500 and try to extend the life of the 98/12v, not hasten it's demise.



But if you insist on grossing 11000-15000# on four tires, maybe try the rock-crawling folks. They're always messing with military axles and probably have lots of extra leaf springs.

possibly overloading your pickup?



try airbags, cheap, little modification needed & varying the air pressure will change your ride quality and height
 
I haul a bunch of weight in the bed of mine too (11' cabover camper. . yeah, on a shortbed :eek: ).

I have the factory overload spring, but they were not quite adequate. so I put on a set of Air Bags, I think mine are the air lift ones. 2500# cap, I think. I usually run 100-120psi in them with the camper on (3,000 lbs or so, plus the tongue weight of the boat trailer). They make a drastic difference. and then you just let the air out for a good ride when empty.



Unloaded, they will lift the truck about 1. 5" from stock height with 100psi.

With the camper on it, they will lift it back up to about 1/2" below unloaded, no air, ride height.



you might also consider lowering the pads on the frame where the overloads contact, if you have the factory overloads. that would be a cheap solution if the ride dont bother you.

4000-8000lbs in the bed is just WAY too much. Your going to break the frame, axles, wheels, tires... something.
 
If your axle is a Dana 70 or 80 you're probably OK if you drive gently. You might want to box the frame for extra strength, or add crossmembers. I second the motion for airbags, though you may blow them out with that much weight.



If you leaves are shot, start with heavier springs. Leaf packs off a one tone dually might be an improvement. Talk to a local suspension shop about heavier duty springs. Add a leafs will soon conform to the rest of your pack so they will only offer a temporary aid. Look at some of the options for overlad helper springs for your best solution in addition to new springs and air bags.
