Archived Need to get ruck running

I posted a thread on the 24v forum but didn't get any replies. What would cause the engine to stop after switching on the lights. With engine not running, I can hear the ASD relay clicking. Going through and checking the grounds now also cleaning the PCM and ECM connections.

Any help would be appreciated. Can't go an other week with out my truck at work.

Are you charging ? Check the battery voltage while running then turn on headlights while monitoring batt. voltage

CAn't do that. Engine starts fine but shuts off when lights are turned on.

Well your kinda stuck other than doing the cleaning that you are doing. I assume you are getting no codes?

checked voltage before starting 12.6 checked while running 14.2 cleaned all the grounds I can find in and around the engine compartment Also found out I have no blower motor. no codes on the 3 key try. Scanner program I have for the laptop said p 1689. I have throttle control so how can I be getting that code?

Since there seems to be an issue with the parking lights, I removed the fuse in the cab of the truck. The lights still came on when I turned the switch. I went to the PDC and removed the fuse and I then had no lights and the "lights on" chime began working again. The truck started and when I replaced the fuse in the PDC, it shut off. I'm not sure which direction to head now.

You might have wires rubbed through under the PDC or in the main harness coming into it. With the fuse in place it grounds out the system and shuts down.
