Ok, after trying the lift the brake pedal trick, replacing the TPS, I unplugged the 2 wire connector that connects to the 1 inch diam 2. 5 inch long white plastic sensor/switch? that has a magnetic tip that stays inside the transmission oil gallery. WHen I unscrewed it (3/4" threads), transmission fluid poured out. I screwed it back in after writing down the numbers on it. It installs in the drivers side rear of the transmission. tHe device also has a blue o-ring to seal it to the transmission housing. The story all begins with the transmission not shifitng to OD when warm. Before this it would shift in and out erratically between 3rd and OD. The OD kill switch pushed in did nothing to stop it, though it would light up. The cruise control does not work either, but this problem developed after the cruise crapped out. Anyway, after disconnecting this 2 wire connector from this round module on the back of the transmission, the transmission began working great. SO, what is the module? It's not a trans temp sensor beacuse i bought one and it looks totally different. The new trans temp sensor is brass and smaller in diam and shorter than the plastic piece. It also has a different plug shape, though slight, and wont plug in to this mystery module harness. And, i found nothing resembling the tts or anything else in any of the transmission lines under the truck or plugged into the transmission itself. HELP!!!! truck is 4x2 230k miles, never used to tow, rebuilt 40k miles ago.
