My manifold finaly cracked. I knew it was just a matter of time. anyhow, I bought a used one on ebay and have a couple questions. Do I need to replace the gaskets or are they reuseable? Also, how about the bolts? Do they break loose OK? Should they be replaced?

I get my new 05 on friday but I just don't feel right tradeing the truck in with a known problem.

You might want to spray those bolts down with some PB Blaster maybe a 2 hours before you start... ... . Some times the get a little rusty.....

The bolts on my manifold broke free real easy. . The gaskets for each cylinder from Mopar were $92 dollars from the local dealer. . $16 for the whole set from local parts store... The gasket to go betweent the turbo and manifold the parts store couldnt get for whatever reason so I went back to Dodge and it was $5. 50... Go figure?? Hope this helps

Thanks guys. As it turned out I never got time to get it done today and I pick up my 05 first thing in the morning. So I will just put the manifold I bought for it behind the seat and let the next guy worry about it. At least he will have the manifold and not have to worry about buying it.

:--) :--) :--) :--) :--)

$92 for EACH cylender????

Last time I bought a set from Cummins was a While ago but I think it was less than $10. Ya gotta wonder if the dealer looked up a wrong number or if there was an error in the computer.....

WOW your a nice guy giving that manifold to the dealership. Too bad it will never make it to the next guy. 90% of the time dealerships send there trade ins to auction and they could care less whats in the truck. It will end up being sold on ebay by the guy who get $7. /hr to clean auction vehicles prior to being sold. Hey if you still have it I'll buy it from you. Mines cracked too and they didnt weld it very well.
