coffee

Ive been that way more than I should have trying to run VERY heavy loads and stay out of jail. The only advice that I can give you is to make sure of your equipment and take LOTs and LOTs and LOTs of COFFEE.

I was on that highway last summer, no trailer, and enjoyed it. Just thinking about the trip and looking at the map sure gets you to thinking about the possibility of some sort of trouble. Your rig will be under the speed limit but you can smile as you pass by the cop cars that have pulled over the fancy fast cars for speeding out there in the wide open spaces.

Enjoy, Tom

I have many times with and without the 5th wheel, Lance camper or my Big Tex trailer with a car on it. It's clearly marked, "The Loneliest Highway in America". Make sure all your tires are good, no ST made in China tires and properly inflated. Make sure your truck and trailer are up to snuff and you have plenty of coffee and snacks. Also have an ipod loaded with music or several CD's. Middle of June, July or August may get too hot.

Good luck, george

Hi Dennis, I've made that trip so many times I Can't remember them all. Stay in Ely in the Koa or pull up to Great Basin NP where there is a camp ground. Then to Fallon or Fernley where there are rv parks. The past advice is good about having everything in good shape . Tires, bearings, etc. It really is a lonely highway but whould much rather this route than I 80 thru Salt Lake. Good luck.
