We totaled his 97 Chevy 2 weeks ago. We were coming in from Az. with a fifth wheel and my wife hit an icy bridge and a wind gust at the same time. Down an embankment and rolled the whole rig over. NOBODY HURT. The ins. co. has settled with him and he wants a CTD. (84 years old and still going) We are looking for a 2500 club cab with good miles. Prefer auto but would consider a 5spd. Light color and non-smoker. Looking for a unit that is real clean and has had good care. Have $ in the mid to upper teens to spend. If it gets over $19K then we will just buy a new one. ($26,500) If you have one or know of one that is not in Rubber Ball, So. Africa email or call toll free 1 888 279 9168. Thanx... Barry

Barry-
Really glad to hear nobody was injured! Just another case of God watching out for us!I knew a guy a while back that was looking for a used truck. He called all the dealers in the area and told them what he wanted and what he wanted to spend. Took about 3 weeks I think and a dealer called him with a truck that was exactly what he wanted down to the color. Gave him the previous owner's name so he could check on the history of the truck. Just a suggestion that might help?

Hey y'all,
I know this is far and away off the topic, but... with you guys being from the same neighborhood and all... Is there a local TDR group or get togethers in the mid/north Texas area? Oh, and I'll keep my eyes open for a good used one.

Regards,

I am a Auto/Truck dealer as well as an RV dealer. I have put the word out everywhere. It still looks like the b est deal is to buy a new one. Here is a twist: We have a small finance co. here in our town that pays 15% interest on deposits. Been doing it for years. If you finance say $25K at the low DC interest rate and you put say $21K on deposit with the finance co. and give them the payment book from DC, at the end of the finance term, your money on deposit is gone but the truck is paid for. Paying cash for a truck today with the low interest rates that are available is not good biz.

I am not aware of any official TDR groups here in Texas, but if you check the Local and Regional events forum Houston usually has a get together once a month. We are gonna try and make the San Antonio area a regular meeting place if all goes well.

Thanx Guys. Looking forward to hearing from you! Work 2 Much: There is a north Texas chapter. Based in Dallas. Look on your TDR mag for listing.
