Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Need Turbo Recomendations

I need some suggestions from you high HP guys. I currently have a '98 24 valve with stage 2 injectors, AFE filter, DD ultimate fueling module, 4" exhaust, ATS manifold, and double fuel pumps.

I've also got a six speed with a 13" con O clutch from south bend which I can slip with the power turned up. I am about to install an OFE special which is rated for 500 HP. Now it's turbo time.

I'm still using the stock turbo, I need some suggestions on what to do in the turbo department. I feel that the proper set up would release a good bit more power. Keep in mind that I do a lot of heavy towing.

Call city diesel and get the Dodgezilla with 14 wastegated housing. When I got mine it had 46 lbs of boost out of the box. I performed a test on my truck with a friends PDR HX35 14 wastegated housing and the Dodgezilla 14 wastegated housing. I found that the PDR had 34 to 35 lbs of boost and the Dodgezilla had 46 out of the box, but you can adjust the PDR to get the same boost. The turbo whine is louder in the Dodgezilla spool up is the same and temp was the same. You get your turbo faster from city diesel depending where you live and they are the nicest people I ever dealt with in the diesel field when ordering something. I have dealt with allot of people too. You will not be disappointed with the Dodgezilla at all!!!!!!!

Diesel Dynamics has a new hybrid turbo that is NOT just parts off the shelf. It spools like a 35 but flows air like a 40. It has proven very durable, and Sickly's little brother (the 2004) is eyeing one They recommend it for the 300-500 hp range.

Run a set of street twins. . 500+hp and no EGT troubles.



even a 40 gets warm at 400hp when towing heavy. An HX35-12/BHT3B combo will let you tow with about any injector a less than sane man could want and still be able to let the wife drive the truck.



There's just nothin like a good set of twins for spankin the local mucle cars
