LBartlett,

Might want to see if theres a DTT builder in your area too. Remember, you may not need ALL the bells & whistles but you typically get what you pay for in lasting performance... 100k trouble-free miles.
Do you know of a good shop that works with the "Goerend trans" around the Seattle Wa area??

Cant speak for Goerend but have heard a lot of good things about them, but Ive had a Suncoast and now a DTT and I wouldnt buy suncoast if it was the last option available. Watch not doing the billet input shaft, some companies will not honor the warranty if the input goes and takes the rest of the transmission out. DTT is one of them, and its understandable because of how this torque converter locks

Goerend shared w/me their warranty would cover as they put a new "stock" input shaft in w/the transmission, for those of you looking for a authorized installer in your area I think you can find it on the Goerend website, have a good one!!

Do at least the billet input and 2 nd gear cage! The Output is easy to change and does not damage the transmission if you break it. SNOKING

Let me first say that I have a DTT and I am happy. When I made my choice the only guys in the game where BD and DTT.

Now how to choose your transmission... pick the company that has an installer close to you. I think about 95% of how you like your transmission is the installer. If your not happy with the installer you will not be happy with the transmission even if its the best in the world.

Huh, 140k? Good for you. Mine lasted 129 and started to slip (no bombs until after the trans was done) show black band material in the pan and soforth. I did alot of homework and decided to go w/DTT. I bombed it a wee bit and it's been rockin on ever since presently 163k on the clock. Good luck choosing a trans there's a bunch of em to choose from.

I agree w/JR2, 95% of the battle is your installer, I'm very happy with Jeremy!!!! we all know Dodge shops that have excellent service and some that s**k, it's like anything in life, the majority of satisfaction comes from the person you deal with, one thing Jeremy shared when I first pulled my truck in was "what a clean truck, never sell it, you won't be happy with a new one" which is why I traded my 04' to a friend for this 01' he bought new and I know the truck, I love it and will drive it until the wheels fall off!!!

So what was the total cost? About $4500 +- installed?
I see you had your work done in texas, did you check out the two Goerend shops in your area, one in Monroe and one in Edmonds? The reason I ask is I live in Spokane and the closest Goerend shops are the two mentioned above. I would like to have a Goerend trans installed in a 1999 dodge 2500 4X4 and I'm looking for some recomendations for a shop in your area.
