I have the old VP44 pump out and will put the new one in tomarrow. Do I need to prime the pump or just bleed the air out of the lines? I would apreciate any advice I can get.

Thanks Houser

Wahoo Im Wingin it.

I hope that before you removed the old pump that you "timed" the engine so that the fuel pump key way was on the top?? It helps to have the key way on top so the key doesn't fall out into the gear case and make the job a lot bigger than it needs to be. Once you have the pump on leave the return line at the vp just alittle loose and bump the ign to that the lift pump primes the vp and then crack an injector line and bleed them till she purs like a kitten. Not only are you "wingin it" you are saving some money and getting better acquainted with your truck.

Good Luck

Let us know how she runs

Thanks for the tips, Yes I ( at the last Minute) decided to move from the TDC marks aligned, to the Key on top though at the time i didnt know it was to prevent the key from falling out. I was just following some directions I found on the TDR site and hoping for the best. I also left the puller attached to the gear to hold it centered once the pump was out. Rather than the Bule chip puller I used a steering wheel puller. Worked just fine and only cost 13 bucks.

Wish me luck im goin In.

The New VP and lift pump are installed And the truck is runnin like a champ. I see I have a certified parcel from Gomer's at the post office, Must be my new EZ. Ill pick that up and stuff it under the hood tomarrow. Tha Injection pump change out went a lot easer than I thought would but I felt like a contorcionist trying to get at that lift pump.

Wahoo Back In Action

Howdy

I installed a regular HO Pump Not an Extra HO HO. Pier's sold extra high output HO pumps For around $1500 With no Warranty.

They called them Hot Rod Pumps. I chose to put back a stock HO pump And and EZ. With what I haul the EZ gives me plenty of poop. I have been thinkin about getting some 275 injectors. Just a kinda ichy in the back of my mind kinda thinkin about it thing. Naa.
