I have scored a possible 727/205 to trade straight across for my Getrag/205. The trade would be complete, incuding starters, etc.
I have a few questions before I make the deal.
1. What are the gear ratios in the 727? It is out of an '89 with 3. 07 axle gears. The transmission has been built and has a tight converter.
2. The transmission was before a Gear Vendors overdrive unit and will need a new tailshaft. Any thoughts on one being better than another. The reason I ask is that I am considering a 203/205 doubler.
3. How interchangable are typical 727 parts with the 727 behind the Cummins? I will need to replace the detent and would like to have a fully manual VB while I am in the process.
