Neg pres in fuel-tank hard on lift-pumps?

How many have a neg pres in fuel-tank?How long are youre lift-pumps lasting?Is there a connection?

I know on mine it was a week old when it got a hole drilled in the cap. I'm not saying to do this but in my opinion there should be no neg pres. My orig lift pump went 70k and was changed for preventive maint. I am guilty of not knowing the pres of it at removal but carry it as a sprare. I do run a few mods and never even bucked.

Is this something we missed?

The stock fuel cap should be vented to prevent negative pressure. Unless it has failed, which is unlikely, you shouldn't have to drill it... .

I agree with you 100%!But i've had to do this on last 4 diesels. I've gone the new cap route in the past same result.
