Negative batery cable rubbing on turbo outlet elbow!!!

This has probably been discovered before but its new to me. .



While putting on my BHAF tonight I noticed that the negative batery cable on the passenger side was rubbing on the turbo outlet elbow and had all but rubbed thru the insulation as well as left a good side divit in the elbow itself! The protective cover has been put in the wrong location.



A new piece of plastic cable wrap and all is well.



Might want to double check your if ya get a chance. Not that it would hurt anything being negative but I dont need a hole in the elbow!!!

Mine was the same way... atleast I'm not the only one.

Yep, I found the same thing on mine and took it to the dealer. If I remember correctly, all it took was moving the cable in the clamp to keep it from rubbing on the turbo. I suppose that this could become a problem if it rubbed severely enough to cut the ground cable or wear through the turbo outlet. However, I would have to have some doubts about the operator if this were to occur.

my very first mod...

That was the first thing i noted while looking under the hood when my truck was new. it had less than 50 miles on it when i spilit a piece of 1/2 inch heater hose and secured it on the battery cable with hose clamps. no problems in 32000 miles, except for a shiney spot on the turbo aluminum!

Mine too.

I wrapped it with lots of electrical tape early on (probably had it in my pocket when I noticed it).

So far, so good.
