Negative Battery Cable

My negative battery cable terminal broke. The cable is a discontinued item. I did some measuring and found the negative cable (driver or passenger) side from my 2007 fit. I ordered passenger part number 56000979AA. Had to reroute between power steering hoses. Driver part number 56000978AB is 5" longer which would not require rerouting.

They don't list one for the 1st Gen's. It was cheaper to buy the later model factory cable from eBay.

I just get cables made up and use the Military style battery end's that way you have a way to change out the end if it break's .

After I got the negative cable replaced a few weeks later the positive terminal cracked. To fix it since a later model positive cable wouldn't work, I purchased a military terminal, a copper crimp terminal for 3/0 cable, used a propane torch and melted the old terminal off. Then soldered the copper terminal on the old cable. I used 4-6 gauge terminals for the other wires. Looks good and should last a long time.
