Hey Briar - you are permitted to cut branches off trees that overhang your property without asking permission from the owner although I suppose it would be a neighbourly thing to do first.
The second part is you are supposed to GIVE the branches to your neighbour to dispose of!!! That to me would be a real tick-off. I took the branches that I had "trimmed" from the neighbours trees to the dump - all 200lbs worth
