Nelson Muffler Clearance

I have an 03 quad cab s/b ... . I have a chance to get a nelson 4"in 4" out 51" 10" round muffler (86713M) from a local shop here for $75 is that a good deal?... will this fit on my truck or do I need to get a 9" round for frame clearance? Also there is a restriction cone about 1/2 way thru it. . by sliding a 2" piece of pipe thru it could easily be opened up . . anyone done this ? should I do this? arugggggg... thanks

I don't have a short box and I have the Nelson 86131 which I think is the 9". Here is a picture of mine installed:

I think the diameter will be fine with the 10" just not sure about the length, you'll have to measure it.

don't get a muffler w/ the restriction screen in it... they're not that expensive. you can probably get a straight through muffler for the same price or less

Thanks for the picture ... so what's the best one? That nelson 86131 seems to be the bomb ... does it have that restrictor cone in it or do you just bend it out of the way with a 2" pipe shoved down the hole??

The 86131 is straight thru, no baffle/restrictor cone. If you get one with the baffle, you will play hell trying to open it up, ask me I can tell you! That why I exchanged the first one for the 86131.
