X2 for White Knuckle Off Road. I recently installed a set of these on my '14 2500 crew cab. These are an excellent product, and the bolt-on installation went smoothly--these are very beefy/stout sliders!

They are really more rock sliders than steps, though I did have the optional diamond plate added to the tops. They don't stick out very far or hang low, which is ideal for my use.

My build, including these sliders, will be in the spring issue of Overland Journal, and then in a later issue of the TDR magazine.

Do they stick out far enough for a step?

Do they stick out far enough for a step?

That's open to interpretation... I'm tall and don't need steps on anything of reasonable height, I just get into my truck like they are not there. I asked my wife what she thinks (these have only been mounted for a few weeks and used little) and she said they were fine as steps, but a little high for her, she's 5'5.

Guess I'd say they work as steps/running boards, but would function better as a step if they stuck out further. Again, their primary function is as sliders. For folks that want steps and don't need/want a slider there are probably better, lower step options.

For my application they are perfect, they don’t stick out so far as to inhibit loading my slide-in camper, and/or requiring camper jack swing-aways.

Let's see pics!

They were on my '06, which I sold. I will be making another set for my '14. The ones I made, the actual bar that runs the length of the cab did not stick out far enough to use as a step. The step part was welded onto the main bar and about 14" long and dropped down and stuck out further than the main bar. Make sense?
