My new to me 2001 is lifted 6" and is a bit of a bear to climb into (particularly for my wife... but even me at 6'2" find myself stretching). As such I have been looking for a nice set of steps/nerf bars. I had the typical Westin bars on my old Ram and they were nice, but the developed a rust hole near the body mount and they are very common on trucks around here.

So I was looking at the offerings from N-Fab N-Fab: Manufacturers of Nerfsteps, Prerunners, Harley Bars & Truck Accessories . They have some really nice looking nerf bars for the 2nd Gen rams, but they do not have any pictures of them installed on 2nd Gens... only 3rd Gens.

Anyone running them and have a picture or comments on the bars?:)

Any idea when you will receive them? Did you get the fender to fender or cab length and 2 step or 3 step model? Where did you order yours?

I believe if you went to rocky mountain suspension on the photo gallery under dodge they had a lifted 2nd gen 1500 with the bars on it will give you a idea of how it looks.

I know, I know - you were asking about 2nd gen. I have an '07 and put my NFab bars on in about an hour - they look great and are very sturdy. Was not too sure about mounting nerf bars to the pinch weld, but once things were tight I understood how they got their 450 pound rating.

Looking good sir! Stainless?

I ordered my N-Fab cab length 4 step bars on Monday, so hopefully they will be here waiting for me when I get home from a trip next week. Ordered them from Blacksheep4x4 here on TDR.
