nerf bars

Hi all! Just looking for opinions here. I have a 02 Black Sport 2500 QC 4x4 and am looking at getting a set of Westin nerf bars. My dilema is: I'm thinking the black on black will look good but the better half thinks the stainless (chrome) would look better. So from the people that would know, how bout it? Also if anyone has any pictures of their trucks with either send them this way! Thanks Phil

I have black nerf bars (annodized alu) and think they look great. I hate chrome and shinny stuff on my truck as it all rusts or tarnishes in the harsh Alaskan winters. The only chrome on my truck is the wheels and I am thinking about having them annodized black.

I have the Westin CPS and really like'em. I've been told the black powder coated ones will ding up easy from rocks. Mine still look like new, even going thru winter with all the salt and sand we have here on the roads. I've seen black sports both ways, both looked good.

The stainless nerfs are super nice, and will not rust and tarnish. I have them and if the WI winters do not trash them nothing will. Go for the chrome look, looks better than black IMO.

sixpack--you said a sport..... really depends on what you want your truck to look like...

mine's a patriot blue SLT so to go with the chrome grill i got the westin stainless... . if i had a dark sport i would have gone with the black..... personally for looks, i dont think the stainless would go with the black sport... . JMHO

I'm leaning towards the black powder coated stainless steel. Then rust won't be a problem. Not that we get any rain the Great Northwest .....

I have the SS Chrome models on my black sport and love them. Either choice will look good I just happened to like the chrome with my wheels.

The black will still chip off the stainless, check these out,click below. I took these off my old truck,they're stainless,4 years old and no problems yet!

Picture of my truck I have the Westin CPS bars, and am very pleased with them. I like the way the bars, wheels, and aluminum tool box contrast with the black Line-X bedliner. If you are looking for stealth, go black. If you want a sharp looking truck, go with the contrast of the CPS. MHO.

Smitty Chrome

Wife like the Smitty Chrome, and it look great on the green with silver trim,
