I have a question for all you electrical guys out there - what kind of switch would a neutral safety switch (auto trans) be classified as?

(SPDT, NO, etc. )

I think it would be normally open. I am sure that there are two wires that can be jumped to allow the truck to start(making it think it is in park or neutral). Sorry I can't help more but I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Good luck, MBanning

The neutral switch on a standard shift would be a single pole, single throw, normally open, momentary (returns to normal position when released) switch. If it is on an automatic, it may also contain the backup light switch and would be another cat. bg

Looking at the wiring diagrams, the neutral/park safety switch is a NO SPST switch that is closed (to ground) when in neutral/park.
