New 04.5 today good info

I finally got my 600 today. 3500 4X4 srw long 6 speed.

As noted in another post at 2100 rpm a slight shutter almost like the rear wheels spinning kinna shake but nothing bad.

A buddy of mine that deals in edge just for S&G's hooked his chip from his 04 to my truck it took about 5 min. I drove it for about 20 min. no codes ran like a bat out of hell. Any input on this. I no longer have that BOMB because I would like to put about 5k on the odo before I get to crazy with the thing.

Congrats on your new truck. I picked mine up last night and have not yet noticed the vibration but then again, I only have about 50 miles on it. BTW, mine came with the 'weighted' PS hose already on it.



Can't help you on the Edge. I plan to run stock.

And also on the 2nd day 350miles no vibration at all. Wish I had ordered 3. 73 instead of 4. 10 (92mph top speed) and im just guessing around 11 to 12 mpg. Just crossed over from several 7. 3 ps and 1 durimax and they really need the low gearing.

I just picke up my 600 tonight and put the edge box (from my 03 i traded in) on at 200 miles... it worked great on level 4 i am going to change it to level 6 tomorrow.

I put my EZ on my buddies 04. 5 and it through two codes, one was, Pump pressure out of range and Waste gate error. Have any of you checked for codes and if so, what were they ? Per Edge the boxes for the 03 & 04 won't work on a 04. 5 325/600.

wow. I expected the wastegate error but not the pressure error. I wonder if the ECM code has new smarts to detect pressure? will the pressure boxes have to do pressure fooling now?

I'm wondering how anyone has an '04. 5 Cummins 600? The Cummins engineer at the LA auto show a month or so ago said that they wouldn't be available until at least mid year. I'm awaiting my new '04 2500 Cummins 4X4 Lariat Quad Cab LWB (been on order for over two months nows) and was told by the dealer that the 600's release date hasn't been released to the dealers yet as they want to get rid of all the regular HO's. What am I missing here?

KHogan, I posted this over in the other forum as well. Your dealer must have too much smog in his brain. All Dodge/Cummins built after 1/1/04 have the 600 engine to meet emission reqs. They started showing up on the dealer's lots out here in mid to late Jan. Quite a few available now around here. Assuming your's was built after 1/1 it will have the 600.

The 04. 5 600 is out indeed. I picked mine up a week ago and because my short term memory is not too good I have checked the engine data plate several times just to be sure it still says 325 hp Coming from an 02 SO, the 325/600 is a very nice step up.



Some dealers might very well tell a tall tale about unavailability to unload some 04 but there may also be some truth about the delay. There is a thread on here somewhere about a production hold on some configurations but don't know just which ones.



Not much real information here but can tell you that some new ones are indeed out.

We've had a red sport 600 on the lot for 2 weeks now.
