Tomeygun, I'm not so sure that's good news. The Dodge's that come out of Mexico are much better than the trucks built in the USA. That's what I hear from all the Dodge dealers I have spoke with including Dave Smith in Kellogg ID. My 95 Dodge/Cummins was built in Mexico and I never had one problem with it. When I purchased my 05 Dodge, I told the dealer that if it wasn't built in Mexico, I didn't want it. So far so good on the 05.

What all this crap that the 3rd gen Dodge can't carry a cab-over camper. This issue has been kicked around a lot on TDR and Dodge only said something about if you have the snow plow package. My owners guide doesn't say not to haul a camper and my 05 has had the 11'3"" cab-over on long trips with NO PROBLEMS.

Billua, You would be wise to rethink Ford Powerjoke or Chevy Dumbamax. . Dodge built in Mexico is not a bad thing, but preferred. Grizzly :-{}

I own a 96-- hecho en mexico-- no problems :D Engine is trouble free, body is perfect--no cancer. Sorry dude, guess ya got a sour one :{ Try another CTD. Can't see two in a row being bad.

heres to buying american

go get the Ford i am sure you will love it. Like somone said before if the engine craps out (which it should not) do a cummins transplant. they all have there issues but when DC refuses to fix them that gives me the reds. ball joints, vibrations, creeks in the door panels, etc.

Bill, What kind of law lets you back out of a truck 3 days after you bought it ? I have never heard of that in my area ?? Sounds good if it is really true.

I got to laugh, Dodge this, Ford that, Mexico, St. Louis, POS, shudder, death wobble, KDP, VP44, reflash over & over, 53 block, Cummins is the greatest, No PSD's rock, Duracrap, Allison, today the best, tommorrow the worst, fuel sender, rust here, leak there, pulls left, no pull right, hydro frames, cracked frames behind cab, no camper certs, headlight switch, paint problems, 47RE will fall apart, no wait 5 spd lasts longer, 5th gear nut, K&N before, now AFE, warranty maybe, maybe not? I get 28 mpg towing 20K, I get 12 mpg, ... ... .

To me, nothing has changed since 1997, I can't wait until I'm forced to choose a replacemnet truck !!!! ---- LOL

Do Not Do Ferd !!!

I have three friends who own 2004 6. 0 diesels that are hating it. averaging about 11 miles per gallon. Also had the front ends rebuilt twice under 36,000 miles. After driving my 2004. 5 3500 srw,and feeling how it tows my horse trailer. They were so impressed that they are going to order the 2006 megacabs when available. good luck!

That is PRICELESS!!! :-laf

I had a 2000 Ford Super Duty. The front end shook violently over sharp bumps, popping noise from cab floor, launch shudder even after drive shaft and tail housing replacement and lowering center support bearing, electric problems in dash. Go ahead and buy one, but each manufacturer has its problems and lemons. But I'll stick with Dodge. I haven't been back to the dealer since I bought it.

most of my friends own dodges but the ones who own fords the trannys, romp, alternators are a real problem. no one i know has even thought about getting a 6L. all trucks have there problems many of them can be contributed to the tree huggers and enviro wacos mandating diesels emit almost nothing out out of the pipe

I love my Mexican Junk Dodge. I loved the last Mexican Junk truck I had too. (95 Dodge/Cummins, CC dually, never was in the shop) The truck before that was an American made Ford, now that was junk, I had the gasser engine rebuilt at 104K and replaced at 121K and finally gave it away at 150K. I also have two Toyota cars. When Americans start building quality vehicles, I'll buy American. The reason Dodge trucks built in Mexico are better then those built in the USA are that Mexican labors are paid $4. 00 or $5. 00 per hour while Americans are paid twenty something per hour and for Mexico that is considered high wages. Mexicans value there jobs and are going to do all they can to keep those good paying jobs. Dodge is also saving a pile of money by building in a foreign country as well as other car makers. I know this hurts our economy, but I want quality. I may be getting off the subject here. Grizzly :-{}

not impressed either

I have been in and under 10-12 03 and newer trucks putting guages pac brakes ect. NOT IMPRESSED the 04 1/2 and newer are worse. chincey and and cheap.

It was bad enough when I bought my 02 and realized had Chrysler had ommited the wheel liners, hood insulation, rear cup holder and worst most BS thing ever no front axle disconnect. I am going to keep my 96 and 02 till they turn to dust then what -I dont know. If I had to buy a new truck tomorrow I wouldnt buy a dodge

i bought a brand new 04 ford. psd. $42k. fully loaded. had it 4 months. left me on the interstate 2 times. injectors and wiring harness. go read their web sites. among other problems, rear main seal replaced. a/c evap replaced 2 times. 13k miles and $10k worth of warranty work. sold it and went back to dodge. good luck.

p. s.

go look under all of the psd's. you will see ALL of the rear mains leaking.

p. s. s.

have fun changing that #2 fuel filter (at $90) under the frame rail.

Someone mentioned Toyota and hoping they bring a truck in the 2500-3500 range with a diesel. They are. Its not far away either. Perhaps this year as an 06. I would look at it but will wait and see how it works out for at least a year.

Glad you are getting things resolved. I have found the workmanship and overall quality of ANY Mexican built product to be MUCH better now then ever.

Scotty

Guys, I appreciate the posts, but about 20 posts ago, I told everyone I am keeping my Dodge for the reasons that you have all mentioned...

Cheers,Bill

Griz You would think that DC would give us some kind of a break in the price of a new truck since they are saving all that money with mexican labor, no health and welfare, no pension and no EPA to protect those people from the toxic waste that comes with a manufacturing facility. What a deal for the American worker who lost his job.

BUY AMERICAN!!!!

End of rant

Billua - glad you put down the crack pipe and decided to keep your truck. I'm sure the visit to the 6. 0 site was a rude awakening. Imagine your fury after dropping $50k on that american made ford and having twice as many issues. .
