Well, we finally did the "deed". Had been looking at an '05 3500 dually for a while. Couldn't make up my mind between 4wd & 2wd, but when all was said and done..... we got the 4wd. Went from a 2nd gen 2wd swb to this  what a huge change! Love the room in the back for the boys, they like having their own windows & doors :) , nice ride and alot of conveniences. Anxious to tow with this, need to install the 5er hitch this week

It was tough saying good bye to the old truck :( , wife doesn't understand, but it was time :D . I already miss the rattle, the dog heard me pull into the driveway. Not sure what shes thinking now :-laf

I did alot of searching and reading on here, found answers to all my questions. I'll be doing alot more as time moves on... as I hadn't spent much time looking at the 3rd gen forum, ie gauge locations. Gotta update my signature... Enjoythe rest of the holiday weekend.

Congrats post a pic and as for the dog , it will have to get over the sound.

My dog barked at my new truck for a few weeks , she was used to the rattle of my 99 , funny watching dogs who love the sound of a 2 nd gen cummins.

I still think she hasn't forgiven me for gettin' rid of the truck.

That is music to my ears! I think Im going to record that on my telephone answering machine! :p :p :p :p :p :p That is a semi "orgasmic" sound! :D

Congrats on the new one. I jus got my 05:) on Thursday night, traded in the 01 reg cab 5 speed. Man do I miss the sound of the clatter. :{ But it was a good choice I took. I am enjoying the auto tho. After shifting gears for 12 to 14 hours a day it was getting old doing it coming home. The quad cab was also a must I just do to much with my truck and customers in the company to have a reg cab anymore. IM happy.

If you ever start to miss the old one too much, just come back and click this link: http://www.klenger.net/dodge/2nd-gen-reference/isb-start.wav

I don't miss the rattle so much, but I really miss that quick fire at startup. I used to laugh at guys cranking on their fords until they fire. Now they laugh at me when I let off too soon. 57K, you'd think I would have learned how to start this thing by now...
