New 06 oil level question..

Call me paranoid if you want...



With all of this talk about diesel in the oil I start worrying real quick when I see something unusual.



I have 4100 miles on it and the oil level is 1/4 inch over safe zone. Do they overfill slightly at the assembly plant?

Mine is a 1/4 inch over if I add a full 3 gallons, which I do.

Keep an eye on it. It will be higher in the morning than when you drive home at night. It takes a while for the last half inch to drain back into the pan. So don't panic if it seems to vary a little. But if it keeps going up, take it to the dealer.

Sniff it to see if it smells like diesel. If it smells like oil, don't give it another thought.
