Does anybody know the model the "new" (DVD-based) navigation radio option is for '05 as of Jan '05? I understand the crappy RB-4 I got duped to the tune of $700-800 bucks OVER the Infinity radio option is NLA. Is this the not-quite-as-crappy (but much more expensive) RB-1 or did DC breakdown and put the wonderful (but huge) DVD NAV/MP-3/Internal 6-disk CD changer radio from the '05 G. Cherokee/Chrysler Pacifica et al. Any info would be helpful... the local dealer is clueless.

I upgraded from the RBQ w infinity sound in my 04. 5. Parts dept manager gave me approx $550. 00 credit towards the RB1. The sound response is excellent w/ the infinity now , sounded poor w/ RBQ . I ended up paying $1300 difference for headunit,6 disc changer, multiplexer & optional title/artist cable and install. .

The mopar part # is 82208653 , I believe this is the correct part #, I do not know if it fits the Dodge truck, it definitely fits the Chrysler 300. there may be bezel adaptor to allow install in Ram

It turns out that the website lied... it's the same old crappy RB-4 radio... $800 if you're getting the Infinity already, $1700 if you're not. My dealer says customers are screaming after they find out which radio they're getting for ridiculous money. You can get the new bid screen nav/6-disc/MP-3 in just about ANY other DC product, but not the top-selling RAM... . go figure! Personally, I really don't feel like investing another $1300 or so bucks in another radio, when it is already obsolete and I've already spent $800 ON TOP of the Infinity package. DC really has their head up their collective *sses. M-B's ownership has done nothing to rectify this.

We got the works in the Chrysler 300C, I don't know about the part number but it is the "Navigation and Sound Group II" that includes the GPS nnavigation System w/ 7 Boston Acoustic Speakers/ Subwoffer, 380-watt Digital Amplifier, Navigation System w/6-CD MP3 Player. The option cost $2,130. Sound system is great and it looks great in the car, but the GPS is not nearly as good as the Garmin SP3 that I have in my truck. The Chrysler GPS works okay and is very easy to use, but the software does not give anywhere the detail that the Garmin does for much less money.

I would not spend that much money for the in dash product from Chrysler again. My wife likes it, though so I would probably get outvoted  .

Also added Kenwood 6" subwoofer, the sound of the system is very good in my opinion

Sorry it is not as cool as the one used in the magnum RT, not enough room in the dash. I would opt out of the OEM Nav system at this point, only good if you dont listen to CDs. Wait and buy one later.

The RB-1 and RB-4 only fit in the current Ram interior. The REC Nav-6 disc in the 300, Magnum, Durango and New Jeep are For the newer dash witch will not fit in The Ram. I bet you will see a new interior in the 06 so all Nav and 6 disc will be compatible in all Chrysler product. But thats only my opinion. Also Chrylser has been going with Boston Acoutic speakers and no Infinity in there new products.  Greg
