Hi all. I have just subscribed to TDR. I found out about it in the Dodge Sales Brochure for Rams. I have owned several trucks, most recently a quad cab Dakota and a 1500 Ram. I took delivery of my 2001 2500 quad cab 4X4 diesel on September 3rd and have been smiling ever since. I would not have believed it had I not experienced it for myself. It is a black Laredo with agate leather interior. I learned to drive on a 1950 3/4 ton Dodge Ram sitting in my dad's lap. I guess the apple really doesn't fall to far from the tree. Look forward to sharing information with you. If you're ever in Asheville, NC, look me up.

Dave

Welcome DSluder,

Beware of the dreaded BOMBitis.

It has proven to be very contagious.

Symptoms include sweating and dizzyness at the sound of a Cummins under load, the constant need to reach in your back pocket for your charge card, and an unsatisfyable "Need for speed" :D

Welcome and Hang loose

As put by some before, welcome and congratulations on the best truck on the face of the Earth. This is by far the best and most expensive $35. 00 you ever spent, read (Beware of the dreaded BOMBitis. It has proven to be very contagious) ;) You'll love this site and it's members, I've met some real nice people here as well learned a lot from it and enjoying my truck even more.

Nice to have you on board, good luck. :)

welcome

Welcome aboard Dave,I'm kind of a new guy here too. This is probally you're best source for info on you're new C. T. D. We all will try to help you out as we have "been there done that":) . Also like the others have said watch out for the Bombing bug. Once it bites you'll only want more, more, more:D :D :D Doug

Welcome aboard. Hope you have a strong will, as others have said above... ... BOMBitis is very contagious and there is no cure for the addiction.

Soon, you will sund like me... . Hi, my name is George, I'm a BOMBaholic, it has been x hours since I have smelled diesel:D

Oh yeah, I once said that BOMBing was complete for me, now I HAVE TO HAVE a new turbo, more power... ... wooohoooo!:D

new

yeah, welcome. i suspect it is too late to warn you about BOMBitis (Better Off Modified Baby). the fact that you joined TDR probably means it is too late. before long , your sweat will smell like diesel fuel. you trouser coughs will start to hint of diesel exhaust. you'll start dreaming fueling modules in color. you may get the urge to tell the boss to "RAM IT". large debits will start to occur on your plastic. there is no known cure. more BOMBs are never enough. you'll start losing sleep. when you do drift off you'll be planning the next BOMB. ah well, BOMB on... ... ..... MORE POWER!! MORE NOISE!!! MORE SMOKE!!!! let's see i haven't thought about BOMBing more than 15-20 times today... ... ... ... :D :D :D

Or you could leave your beautiful machine bone stock, drive the bejeebers out of it and save the $$ for beer. Works for me!:)

I'm happy with mine as stock, although I did spend some money on accessories. I'd rather put the money into the camper, and keep the warranty for the truck valid. The HO 6 speed combo is fantastic, especially in the hills. I have no idea how anyone could race a 6 speed since half of my accelleration time is spent shifting.
