You didn't buy too early unless you wanted a Hemi. There has been a thread about the Power Wagon for awhile somewhere on the TDR. It's only available with a Hemi, not a Cummins. As for the trucks you see with the raised hoods, they are more than likely a Hemi Sport or the Ram Rumble Bee, both come in the 1500 models.

Both trucks I have seen with the raised hoods have been HD 4x4's. One for sure with a Cummins, I'm not sure about the other. I think I'll stop by a dealer tomorrow and see what is going on. The only thing on the Power Wagon I would really like to have is the electronic lockers.

In this month's Motor Trend (I think) it said that the Cummins would be a late availablility for the Power Wagon. Early next year I think it said.

Way cool off road vehicle with the Cummins. Love that compund low.

BTW, I have seen a lot of different 1/2 tonners at the local dealer - Rumble Bee's, Hemi GTX's, and SRT-10's. Each had a different raised hood design. I'm sure any of them would work on the HD's.

It's great to see at least one manufacturer building a trail ready fullsize truck.

Four Wheeler mag states...

"Obviously, there are some hard-core off-highway minded engineers and management lurking the halls at Dodge for this vehicle to make production"

No diesel option available but it sure warrants a mention. This truck will go down as one of the last real STOCK off-road beasts.

Here are some of the highlights. .

345hp Hemi

1. 8" higher stance than stock Ram 2500 4x4 provided by revised springs

4:56 gears

11. 5 axle shafts in 10. 5 rear

Electronically actuated TracRite lockers. . front and rear

Electronically actuated sway bar disconnect

Longer and larger Bilstein high pressure monotube shocks

12,000 pound Warn winch... built in

Major undercarriage protection including fore-aft bars, stabilizer plate and fuel tank protection

BFG 285 AT's on Alcoa forged aluminum wheels

T-case with 2. 73:1 low range

Idle bumped up 100 rpm to 750

Fan clutch engages at lower rpm

5-speed auto with higher transmission shift points

160 amp alternator and 750 amphour battery

655 RTI with swaybar disconnected and a stock 35 degree approach angle

werd up on that one... ... . i would only want that hemi if it was the 6. 1L they are supposed to be coming out with.

not sure about the truck and the 6. 1,but they are going to be using that in the new charger to come soon(mid 05 for 06). it will not have the cylinder deactivation,so it may be a truck engine.

I can assure you it will not have a benz transmission. it will have the same 48 or an offspring. they have invested tons of cash into the current plants(auto trans). all current autos are built in 3 plants here in our county. only leak I have is a 5 gear auto but thats at least 2 years away. I can find no other info. or anyone willing to tell. we build good trans but not for bombed trucks.
